Abstract | In order to position itself as a referent in the study of the durability of plastic pipes for transporting hydrogen, the CMAT is proposing this thesis subject to study the mechanical response and durability of PSGT specimens in a hydrogen environment. Considering the limitations of the hydrogen-environmental chamber, the study considers using mini-PSGT specimens with equivalent shape ratios as the ones used in previous studies but with smaller dimensions. The feasibility of using mini-PSGT geometries to mimic internally pressurized pipes will be firstly verified by following the width contraction by a Digital Image Correlation (DIC) camera during monotonic tensile and creep loading at room and high temperature, without the hydrogen environmental chamber. Once, the optimised geometry found, the mechanical response and durability of PSGT specimens under the effect of hydrogen will be studied. |
