Abstract | This thesis aims to develop a 3D characterization of crystalline orientations, including the presence of metallurgical features, in foundry parts during their manufacturing process, with a view to utilizing the data in numerical calculation models to obtain an accurate estimation of mechanical performance. This will notably involve defining new illumination strategies for the part to obtain the most relevant diffraction signal possible. These data will then be processed in a dedicated reconstruction software that will allow the extraction of the 3D volume of the feature, as well as its crystalline orientation. The objective is to integrate the 3D metallurgical feature within the finite element model of the part, which will allow for the calculation of its lifespan. To achieve this, the study will begin with specimens of simple geometry, which will allow for the execution of mechanical tests essential for understanding the phenomena. These results will then be integrated into the numerical models of crystal plasticity for their application to complex parts. |
